Other worlds...

(The above pictures are realities I created using an amazing program called Vue5 easal)

Perhaps one of the greatest lessons on my Life came from TRULY accepting the fact that happiness is my responsibility. Many philosophies teach us that some external force or belief will save the day and bring to us happiness. While this my seem cliche' and obvious, I challenge you to think for a moment and remember how many times, you said to yourself, I wish things were this way and that and then I would feel better. If I can just get that, or get there I'll be happier. Done thinking? Yep. All happiness is synthesized by our brains. It is, however, no less genuine as a result. It has always been that way. We put meaning into things and ourselves. We are what we think. How you shape your mind and body is how you see the world and your happiness. It's such a scary thought for many; so scary many stick to traditional beliefs and give up on the idea that you can create yourself, your reality and your view of the world outside - all from the inside. Think of the power you have at your disposal....

Other worlds are right at the fingertips of your mind....

Life....live it.

I'm stoked. I'm off from the bedroom community of Pleasanton, CA to go to Muir Beach in the S.F. Bay area. After hanging in the ocean air, I'm cruisin over to Magnolia-a Greatful Dead influenced pub on Haight Street. My brother has been telling me to go. I can't refuse a good hand drawn ale in an idealistic but real environment. Beats the shit out of watching football at BW-3's!!! Don't do just because everyone else does. That's thoughtless and lame. Figure it out for yourself.

Can't wait. I'll write more on the trip later. If only it were more strange and long. That just occurred to me lately. Heh, heh.

Now for deep thoughts....

Perhaps the greatest personal inspiration in my Life is the fact that Life is short and we all die someday. The tradgedy is in not fully realizing the impact of this statement beyond the cliche before it's too late.

The fact that Life is so short and has a ending, as sure as the existance of tax, makes me want to live everyday deeply and fully. It makes me want to do things that mean something now, not someday.

I hope you Live your Life today and concentrate on things that matter.

LIVE YOUR LIFE. YOU HAVE BUT ONE CHANCE IN THIS PHASE.

P.S. I saw the greatest bumper sticker "People laugh because I am different. I laugh because they're all the same." Dare to be different folks.

Jupiter is in my coffee...

Jupiter is in my coffee..

As I have said before, I think it's important to see signs in everything. If you think about it for a moment, perhaps on a coffee break, there are consistencies in everything around us. Connections defined by the visual and audible and all of the other senses, are present in infinite variety.∞

As I poured a cup of coffee during a training break for a new piece of software I am expected to implement this year, I relaxed and took a breath-most necessary for deep thought. I fuddled for a moment at the decision to dilute the Sumatran bean with a creamer. Was it Coffee Mate or half&half? I resolved on half&half despite my lactose intolerance. I poured the small amount of gas generating dairy into the steaming cup of mitochondrial competition and it hit me again-a sign of connection and consistency.

Jupiter was in my coffee.

The swirls of cream mixed beautifully and violently, relatively speaking (size is a human concept of space and time! Imagine yourself as a microbe in the mix.), and there it was-a momentary (excuse the hypocrisy) visual illustration of Jupiter's storms.

The consistency even extended itself to the physical properties of the both situations. The kinetics of the warm coffee and cold cream had indeed created a storm like on that of Jupiter. Such a minor event that we take for granted every morning (for the caffeine heads) had presented me with a connection to the ways of the universe-all in the confines of my cup.

Whether you scoff at my observation or say "Yeah man, I see what your saying.", is irrelevant to me. The point is, thought occurred and I connected with the universe and all things by a simple action that can easily be trivialized. All of this in a cup of coffee-all of this in the wonderful world we know.

Take head of all things no matter how small or large. From a stranger's hello to the meaning of your Life and legacy, it is all matter and meaning.

Think about it.

The ELKS club got rowdy in Rocky Mountain National Park

RMNP: Never Summer Wilderness region...the call of nature.
This last weekend was the first time I have ever heard the call of the elk. The only thing I could think of to equate the sound was to that of whales. Amazing and very haunting at night. The moon was so full and bright it made headlamps unnecessary. Along with the elk were coyotes singing to each other and the great white moon. I sat still by the fire, not saying anything. I felt connected to a part of this place. It all reminded me of the connectedness to the earth we loose so easily in our day to day. The moon, the tides, the moods, the season of the animal voice all play a symphony of sight and sound. It is up to us to never deafen our ears to this, an amazing tone.

A toast to you brother. I could write a lot about this, but the picture to me says it all. You are my friend, my brother and my guide.
Thanks for all you have shown me.
Your little brother,

Tour De Fat -- Ft. Collins -- 2006 = The Freaks come out, well, all day too.

Days like these make me think how odd it is that we all don't dress up and get in touch with our own internal freak show more often.

Look for signs in everything...

The path ahead is clear. The arbitrary assault on Life and it's relentless locomotion of genetic assembly are balanced once again in the cosmic equilibrium. Slow cooking is better cooking. In the relative universal time humans got cooked up fast. Blink of a universal eye. More like a microwave then a crock pot.
Cable television strikes at the human vulnerable. Plucks at it fiercely until we're convinced leaving home could expose us to every conceivable danger imagined by the narrow human mind perception realm. We all know there's a comet or a volcano snickering and counting down the years, or perhaps hours, until it decides to change the course of all we have known--objectively simmering an earthly stew of what was as we knew it.
We press on. Waving flags, shouting and convincing our beliefs. We keep on keeping on despite it all. Well, why not man.
There is always hope in uncertainty.
